Marine Inboard Technician – Royal River Boat Repair

Description:

Come work with us here on the beautiful Royal River! Royal River Boat Repair is a full-service boatyard that handles both pleasure craft and commercial vessels. 

We are seeking a full-time, established marine technician. Candidate should have 3+ years experience working in the marine industry. Preference given to candidates with previous training and/or certifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and repair faulty mechanical systems; electrical, plumbing, fuel, bilge, etc.
  • Maintain accurate records related to work orders, parts used, and time spent on tasks
  • Work closely with parts department to assure accurate procurement

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience as an inboard marine technician
  • Capable of sea-trialing and docking boats at location on the Royal River
  • Appropriate certifications for your experience
  • Required to own all basic tools necessary for service work
  • Must be able to consistently lift and/or manipulate with push/pull force +/- 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ABYC certification

Marine Yard Specialist – Royal River Boat Repair

Description:

Come work with us here on the beautiful Royal River! Royal River Boat Repair is a full-service boatyard that handles both pleasure craft and commercial vessels. 

We are seeking part-time and full-time yard specialists.  We are open to hiring seasonal employees.  

Responsibilities:

  • Pressure washing boats as they are hauled out of the water.
  • Framing and shrink wrapping boats for winter storage.
  • Support winterization activities as part of the Yard Crew team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be capable of engaging in heavy physical labor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to consistently lift and/or manipulate with push/pull force +/- 50 pounds
  • Prior related boat yard experience is preferred but not necessary.

Job Type:

Full-time or part-time, Year-round, Mon-Fri

Boatyard Yard Crew Member

Location: Southport, ME
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $22 – $27 hourly

Are you looking for a hands-on, physically active job in the marine industry? We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Boatyard Yard Crew Member to join our team! This role is essential in keeping our boatyard running smoothly, assisting with vessel handling, maintenance, and general yard operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Haul, launch, block, and move boats using boatyard equipment
  • Pressure wash and clean hulls for maintenance and repairs
  • Assist with bottom painting, sanding, and basic boat maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organized boatyard and work area
  • Operate forklifts, travel lifts, and other heavy equipment (training provided if necessary)
  • Assist technicians and craftsmen as needed in various boat repair and maintenance tasks
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for equipment use and boat handling

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a boatyard or marine environment (preferred, but not required)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Comfortable with physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
  • Basic knowledge of boat handling and marine maintenance (a plus)
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

OUTBOARD TECHNICIAN

Brewer South Freeport Marine is looking for an outboard or general marine mechanic interested in servicing outboard motors. We have an opening for an additional outboard mechanic.

Job includes:

  • Winterize and commission outboards
  • Maintenance and repairs on all makes of outboards
  • Troubleshooting running and fuel issues
  • Sea trialing boats
  • Laptop diagnostics
  • Basic 12-volt wiring

We are servicing dealers for Yamaha and Honda outboards as well as a long list of other engine and systems manufacturers. We believe in attending factory training yearly. Brewer South Freeport Marine is a full-service boat yard and marina in the heart of Casco Bay. We have 110 slips and 15 seasonal moorings. We have 50 ton and 35 ton lifts and haul +/- 300 boats seasonally. We store 200 and 45 of those are inside in heated storage. We have very nice shops and working conditions.

Job Description
At Strouts Point Wharf Company the Marina Manager is our ambassador to the waterfront. They are the primary contact for our summer customers. Their main duty is to create a safe, fun, and pleasurable environment for our marina and mooring guests. The Marina Manager will provide excellent customer service and help us exceed our customers’ expectations. They will perform administrative and supervisory roles including hiring dock staff, scheduling, coordinating, and promoting daily and seasonal operations. This position could be seasonal but there is an opportunity for administrative or yard labor work to make this a year-round position. This is a flexible position and can be tailored to fit the right candidate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the marina, ensuring efficient use of resources and that all
    activities run smoothly.
  • Manage, train, and schedule marina staff.
  • Provide top-notch service to boaters, and visitors, addressing inquiries, concerns, and ensuring
    a safe, enjoyable experience for all.
  • Be on-site weekends during our busy season to provide a consistent point of contact for our
    customers.
  • Ensure the marina’s facilities, docks, and boats are well-maintained, addressing any necessary
    repairs promptly.
  • Enforce safety protocols, regulatory standards, and environmental regulations, including
    ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Promote the marina through various channels, creating special events or offerings to attract new
    customers.
  • Maintain inventory of necessary marina supplies, including fuel, retail items and cleaning
    supplies.
  • Address any issues that arise on-site, including customer complaints, operational challenges,
    and equipment malfunctions.
  • Work closely with General Manager regarding operations, revenue, customer feedback, and
    maintenance needs.

Education and Experience
HS Diploma, some college preferred.
Prior marina or boatyard experience will be helpful but we will train the right person.
Management experience helpful.
Skills and Qualifications
Exceptional customer service skills
Familiar with MS Windows and Office and the ability to learn POS/marina management software
Able to work independently and be a team player
Comfortable in a position managing a high school and college age staff
Familiarity with the boating industry, including common boating practices and equipment.

The Store Warehouse Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and effective management of incoming and outgoing inventory. This role involves supervising warehouse staff and ensuring a safe and organized warehouse environment. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise Warehouse Staff: Manage and lead a team of warehouse workers, including monitoring scheduling, training, and performance conversations. 
  • Ensure that receiving and transfer logs are accurately and promptly updated.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure all warehouse activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. 
  • Process Improvement: Develop and implement strategies to improve warehouse efficiency, productivity, and safety. 
  • Customer Service: Address and resolve any issues related to transfer of product and communicate effectively with customers and other departments. 
  • Provide mentorship to the CREW and offer opportunities for people to gain experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Work is physically strenuous. Workers are typically required to lift heavy packages, bend, stoop, utilize ladders and/or operate heavy equipment. 
  • Warehouse workers who work on loading platforms may be exposed to all kinds of weather, and those who work outdoors should wear protective clothing.
  • To reduce the risk of accidents, workers are required to follow strict safety regulations.
  • Warehouse workers generally work about forty hours a week. Overtime is often available at premium rates, and the work is usually steady all year.
