Are you looking to spend your workdays by the water? Abel’s Marina and Boatyard is seeking a hardworking, dependable, and enthusiastic Marina & Boatyard worker to join our team. In this role, you will be the backbone of our daily waterfront and yard operations, ensuring our facility runs smoothly and our customers’ vessels are meticulously cared for. Whether you are an experienced marine professional or looking to launch your career in the marine industry, Abel’s Marina & Boatyard offers a fast-paced, hands-on work environment with opportunities for advancement, skill development, and long-term career growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vessel Handling: Assist with boat launching, hauling, loading onto lifts, trailers, and the storage of boats onto stands.
  • Boat Maintenance: Perform boat bottom painting, power washing, hull cleaning, buffing and waxing, and detailing.
  • Boat Service: Engine work, carpentry, mechanical, fiberglassing, painting, step masts, and rigging.
  • Facility Upkeep: Maintain overall cleanliness of the marina and boatyard, maintenance and repair equipment.
  • Team Support: Work closely with our operations manager and other technicians to prepare boats on time.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, lift up to 50lbs, and comfortably climb in and out of boats.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays during peak boating season.
  • Strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and excellent teamwork skills.
  • Experience in towing trailers, operating machinery, or basic boat handling is a huge plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate!

Marine Yard Specialist – Royal River Boat Repair

Description:

Come work with us here on the beautiful Royal River! Royal River Boat Repair is a full-service boatyard that handles both pleasure craft and commercial vessels. 

We are seeking part-time and full-time yard specialists.  We are open to hiring seasonal employees.  

Responsibilities:

  • Pressure washing boats as they are hauled out of the water.
  • Framing and shrink wrapping boats for winter storage.
  • Support winterization activities as part of the Yard Crew team.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be capable of engaging in heavy physical labor for extended periods of time.
  • Must be able to consistently lift and/or manipulate with push/pull force +/- 50 pounds
  • Prior related boat yard experience is preferred but not necessary.

Job Type:

Full-time or part-time, Year-round, Mon-Fri 

Overtime available seasonally if desired

Full-time Benefits:

Boatyard Yard Crew Member

Job Type: Full-Time
Salary: $22 – $27 hourly

Are you looking for a hands-on, physically active job in the marine industry? We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Boatyard Yard Crew Member to join our team! This role is essential in keeping our boatyard running smoothly, assisting with vessel handling, maintenance, and general yard operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Haul, launch, block, and move boats using boatyard equipment
  • Pressure wash and clean hulls for maintenance and repairs
  • Assist with bottom painting, sanding, and basic boat maintenance
  • Maintain a clean and organized boatyard and work area
  • Operate forklifts, travel lifts, and other heavy equipment (training provided if necessary)
  • Assist technicians and craftsmen as needed in various boat repair and maintenance tasks
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines for equipment use and boat handling

Qualifications:

  • Experience working in a boatyard or marine environment (preferred, but not required)
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Comfortable with physical labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for long periods
  • Basic knowledge of boat handling and marine maintenance (a plus)
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

The Yard Manager is responsible for supervising all yard activities working closely with Service Manager on planning and scheduling all yard activities including launching and hauling, physically locating boats, maintenance of waterfront equipment including floats, ramps, moorings and yard watercraft.
