As the General Manager of Marine Operations, you will lead one of the nation’s top boatyards and marinas. Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Logistics, Marine Trades or related fields or experiences.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior management roles ideally within the marine industry, with a proven track record in strategic planning and operational execution.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management, financial planning, and performance analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of staff, guests, and stakeholders.

Responsible for the oversight of our tender construction with a commitment to delivering projects on time and within budget ensuring the work performed meets the customer’s expectations as well as Hodgdon Yachts standards. The Project Manager, within the constraints of the contract, will establish the production timeline and will coordinate necessary labor, materials, tools and equipment with the Production Manager. 

Bachelor’s degree plus 10 years of experience (or a combination of education and experience) with a concentration in Operations Management preferable in yacht manufacturing or the construction environment.

POSITION SUMMARY:
HODGDON YACHTS is searching for an entry level Designer at our Tenders Division in Damariscotta, ME who will assist with the design of custom Tenders for the super yacht industry.  Successful candidates will have working knowledge of mechanical design and drafting.  Familiarity with naval architecture, boatbuilding methods and composite constructions are a plus.  They will assist senior members of the engineering team with preparation of drawings and documentation for fabrication and construction, as well as liaise with the production manager and other members of the production team to bring designs to completion.  We offer the opportunity to work on world class boats, great work environment, excellent benefits including health insurance, paid time off, holidays, 401(K) with employer match, and four-day work weeks.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

  • Work directly with all individuals in the Design and Engineering Department as well as all other departments to support efficient production

  • Learn the basics of composite construction to assist with the design of components and tooling

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot maintain, and repair multiple OEM brands of diesel engines on boats of all kinds

Safe Harbor Great Island Systems Technicians will be trained through a combination of mentoring, ABYC courses and OEM Product Training to develop their knowledge of: maintenance procedures; installation application requirements and troubleshooting using both computer interfaces and diagnostic equipment such as multi-meters, refrigeration gauge sets, and product specific tooling.

Systems Technicians execute annual decommissioning and recommissioning procedures on the vessels stored at Safe Harbor Great Island.  These procedures are iPad based and guide the technician through the process while capturing critical data for the customer.
