Link to the AGENDA for February 2

This is a specialized environmental training opportunity for boat yards, boat builders, marinas and service facilities aimed at helping those businesses better understand their environmental compliance obligations and how to identify and implement compliance strategies with references to the Maine Marine Environmental Compliance Guide. This online tool was created in 2019 to replace/update the former “Brightworks” Best Management Practices notebooks that may still be on some shelves in MMTA member businesses.

Major topic areas include air emissions and licensing, hazardous waste, universal waste, bottom wash, and stormwater. In addition, attendees will hear about efforts to deal with shrinkwrap and fiberglass recycling in Maine.

This training will include presentations by staff of Maine DEP and Maine Labpack. MMTA will also be giving some updates on the Clean Boatyards & Marinas Program and a new model that will be available for MMTA Members.

There will be ample time for attendee engagement and questions will be encouraged.

The event has been sponsored by MMTA members, St. Germain and Maine Labpack.
