Lyman Morse has openings at our Thomaston and Camden locations for people with finish skills to work in both the service and new build departments. Work will consist of surface preparations and coatings including fairing, sanding, painting and other finishing procedures on boats and small parts. The products can range from epoxy, polyurethanes, varnish and other marine finishing products. Applications are done by brush as well as spraying. Experience required: 2-5 years marine painting experience, may substitute high end automotive prep and finish experience. Also working knowledge of airless pumps and traditional spray methods. Should have knowledge of instrumentation techniques, basic understanding of electronics, hydraulics, fluid connectors, fittings and ability to read assembly drawings and hydraulic schematics as well as troubleshooting, test failures and assist in corrective action. Hodgdon Yachts: This technician provides design support of production for all vessels under construction and vessel refit projects. Assist senior members of the engineering team with preparation of drawings and documentation for fabrication and construction. Liaise with production manager and the other members of the production team to bring designs to fruition. Assist in the production process, including composite fabrication, assembly, and systems installation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
▪ Learn the basics of composite construction to assist with the design of components and tooling
▪ Navigate, manipulate, or create 3D models and the associated drawings
▪ Prepare models for 3D printing
▪ Communicate with and support production departments design needs based on the overall production schedule
▪ Work directly with all individuals in the Design and Engineering Department as well as all other departments to support efficient production
▪ Review specifications of equipment and designs to aid with regulatory compliance and safety considerations
▪ Assist with layup and infusion of composite components
▪ Assist with electrical installation
▪ Assist with systems installation
▪ Assist with assembly of composite components
▪ Assist with logistic tasks related to production
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
▪ Familiarity with boat systems, naval architecture, and automation
▪ Experience with 3D modeling, engineering drawing standards, and Microsoft Office ▪ 2 years enrollment in undergraduate engineering degree program

Yard Crew

Jeff’s Marine, Inc. – Full-Time – 40 Hours/Week – Designated Weekends for Summer Season & Boat Shows

Reports to the Service Manager & General Manager

Overview

The yard crew are the first point of contact at Jeff’s Marine. They assist customers when they come into the yard and working with them on service calls. They assist in completing spring commissioning and winterization of boats. The crew works with other staff members to complete larger ongoing tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities & Duties

Duties include: boat transportation, including launching & haul out on trailers; boat detailing & cleaning; buffing & waxing boats; bottom painting boats; pressure washing boats; maintenance of yard, garage bays, storage buildings and equipment; and some light fabrication work.

Desired Skills

Desired skills include: ability to demonstrate professional behavior, showing respect for customers & coworkers; ability to communicate clearly and in a timely manner; ability to work as a team player and assist others on short notice; ability to work in a fast-paced environment; ability to work independently and identify areas of improvement; and ability to meet deadlines.

Qualifications

Qualifications include: ability to lift 50+ lbs. and experience in backing up equipment, including trailers of all sizes.

Desired skills and certifications include: forklift operation certification; experience working in boatyards; and boat operation experience and basic water safety knowledge.

New Meadows Marina in Brunswick is looking for technicians experienced with power boats and gas engines.  Yamaha knowledge a plus. We are a family run business, located on the New Meadows River, with a team-oriented environment and high regard for positive employee and customer relations.

Duties include commissioning/decommissioning, mechanical and systems troubleshooting, diagnosis and repair, and sea trials.  Ability to operate a computer for the purpose of diagnostics and work order submission.

Education Requirements:  High School diploma or equivalent.
