Safe Harbor Marinas has two waterfront facilities in Kittery and Eliot, Maine that service, repair, and store recreational and
commercial vessels, power and sail, ranging from 39 to +50 feet. We are dealers for Yanmar, Yamaha, and Suzuki engines. OEM training opportunities are available.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
 Inspect, maintain, and repair boats of all kinds
 Basic decommissioning and commissioning of all engine and mechanical systems
 Ability to troubleshoot and replace running gear issues
 Comfortable understanding of marine electrical and plumbing components and ability to test,
repair, and replace systems
 Ability to generate budgeted time and material estimates
 Ability to use logic, good ears, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues
 Must possess own tools
 Ability to develop customer relationships and work with other team members

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities
• Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.
• Wear proper personal protective equipment (may include safety glasses, gloves, life jackets
and/or hard hats) as required for the task or work area.
• Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and Physical Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Technical school training preferred
• 5 years’ experience preferred
• ABYC and/or manufacturer certifications preferred
• Ability to ascend and descend a ladder
• Must carry own tools
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Ability to lift 50 pounds
• Basic boat handling skills preferred
• Experience with both gas and diesel engines preferred

Do you have the touch and are looking for responsibility and an opportunity to show off your talent in operating equipment?  Do you want to work for a company that continually invests in its people, facilities, and equipment? Safe Harbors Marinas has two waterfront facilities in Kittery and Eliot, Maine that service, repair and store power and sailing vessels ranging from 18′ to +50′. We are looking for an experienced equipment operator to join our team. The Equipment Operator is responsible for moving, hauling and launching all vessels on location. The successful candidate would be offered the opportunity to acquire additional skill sets within the boatyard and marina operations. Ability to operate power and sail vessels is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to:  forklifts, travelifts, and hydraulic trailers
  • Be able to operate machinery efficiently, effectively and demonstrate safe handling of vessels
  • Inspect, maintain and repair equipment to ensure operational
  • Perform related tasks such as pressure washing, bottom painting, block and stand vessels, and general facilities maintenance, as needed

Technician. Some of this position’s duties include commissioning and
decommissioning masts and sails for service and storage. Assess, repair, replace, and
maintain spars, rigging, and deck hardware. Boat handling experience and basic DC
