  • Supervise daily operations and maintain schedules to ensure timely completions of work orders
  • Train and assist yard team when necessary
  • Inspect jobs for quality control throughout the job process
  • Inspect boats and oversee yard team to identify problems and recommended maintenance
  • Preform related duties as assigned

Work Experience Required:

  • Experience as a marine mechanical technician or marine yard team member
  • Experience operating marine yard equipment and boats
  • Ability to read and use technical manuals
  • Ability to manage teams and customer service skills

Skilled Laborers at Henry R. Abel Yacht Yard

This is an entry level position with a variety of tasks including but not limited to hauling/launching, detailing, bottom painting and routine maintenance of yard and buildings, onthejob training provided. Must be flexible with other assigned tasks by the Crew Supervisor.

Kittery Point Yacht Yard (KPYY) is seeking an experienced “In Yard” marine equipment operator to join our team.

Applicant must have a strong background in hauling boats. Primary responsibility to include operation of boat handling equipment including hydraulic boat trailers, fork lift, yard crane, and Marine Travelift. Applicant should possess necessary skills and knowledge to perform basic equipment maintenance. Additional boat related service skills and facility maintenance background a plus.

The successful candidate will be professional and team-oriented, but also able to work independently. Must be able to lift 50 lbs and comfortable working in, on, and around boats.

Position is full time year-round from 7:30-4:00pm M-F. Career path training and management opportunities available. We offer health and dental insurance, retirement plan with company match, paid holidays and paid time off.  Relocation assistance available.

Pay rate is $18-30 per hour, based on experience.

Kittery Point Yacht Yard is looking for an all-around individual to join our team to help with various tasks at our marine service yards. Responsibilities vary daily and can include helping with hauling and launching boats, buffing and waxing, bottom painting, shrink wrapping, general building and yard maintenance.

Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs. and work outside in all weather conditions. Must have valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Experience and a basic knowledge of boats is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.

Position is full time year-round from 7:30-4:00pm M-F.  We offer health, dental & vision insurance, retirement plan with company match, paid holidays and paid time off.

Pay rate is $16-20 per hour and is based on experience.

Royal River Boat Repair in Yarmouth, ME is seeking a full time seasonal yard laborer. Responsibilities include but not limited to: sanding and bottom painting of boats-waxing-detailing-boat cleaning-grounds maintenance-shrink wrap moving/launching boats and mast stepping. 

Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs have a strong work ethic-ability to follow directions and have a valid driver’s license. This would be an ideal position for a high school student looking for summer work. 

This position could become a full time year round position for the right person with excellent benefits after a 60 day probation period has been completed.
