Lyman-Morse Boatbuilding in Thomaston is looking for an experienced project manager to join our growing boatbuilding division. This is a dynamic role that requires technical custom yacht building experience and the ability to work closely with our design team, department managers, installation technicians, industry reps, and owners to coordinate the construction of a wide variety of world-class yachts. The boatbuilding team is a close-knit division within a family-run company with a strong focus on personal long-term growth and development. POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager with the maintenance of all facilities, including structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and heating systems, safety of all facilities and in-house construction and repair. Special emphasis is given to cleanliness and orderly appearance of buildings, vehicles, ramps, floats, and grounds.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
▪ Assist with equipment and facilities maintenance
▪ Assist with maintenance of production equipment such as air compressors, vacuum pumps, woodworking equipment, etc.
▪ Assist with grounds and marina maintenance
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
▪ Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair methods
▪ Ability to repair tools and equipment
▪ Must have valid driver’s license
▪ Basic hand tools are required
▪ Must wear personal protection equipment as required, including a respirator
▪ Must abide by safety policies and procedures
ESSENTIAL MENTAL FUNCTIONS:

POSITION SUMMARY FOR HODGDON YACHT SERVICES: The Dockmaster is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the marina, mooring field and waterfront of the Southport facility. These operations include, but are not limited to, assisting with the hiring of dock hands, training, and scheduling of marina/dock staff. The Dockmaster will also be responsible for all boats on location from the time of their launch to their haul out.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Training of dock staff in proper tie up of boats, pump out of holding tanks, customer service including assisting customers with loading and unloading their belongings to and from their vessels, fueling boats with specific attention to proper location and fuel type and use of point-of-sale systems.

• Development and implement of daily and weekly check lists to ensure a consistent routine for customers, dock staff and management.
• Manage the seasonal dockage and mooring agreements with customers prior to the beginning of each season.
• Manage dockage and mooring space for transients and service customers.
• Schedule and reconcile fuel deliveries and daily fuel purchases.
• Assist yard crew with launch and haul outs and set up of marina in the spring and fall.
• Assist mechanics with sea trials of boats.
OTHER RESPONSIBLIES:
• Utilize dock staff in keeping the marina facilities and lower yard neat and clean.
• Signing off on daily, weekly and monthly check list.
• Maintaining stock for items sold on fuel dock.
• Delivery of storage boats to customers docks and moorings as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
▪ Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the marine industry, preferably as a Dockmaster
▪ Good mechanical aptitude and boat handling skills.
▪ Must have strong attention to detail and a sensitivity to the needs of our customers.
▪ Dependable with a positive attitude and a strong, high quality work ethic.
▪ Demonstrates leadership skills and/or experience.
▪ Must be a self-starter, able to manage facilities and staff on their own and effectively
communicate directly with customers and service managers.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
▪ Bachelor’s degree or two years related training

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: The Dockmaster is expected to undertake such other duties as may be reasonably required to ensure a smooth-running marina/boatyard. A flexible working schedule is required as the Dockmaster may be required to work across a seven-day work week with a rotating schedule, including holidays and possibly evening hours. The Dockmaster should anticipate working weekends, during peak times and special events, and be on call in times of emergency or bad weather.

Hodgdon Yachts: This technician provides design support of production for all vessels under construction and vessel refit projects. Assist senior members of the engineering team with preparation of drawings and documentation for fabrication and construction. Liaise with production manager and the other members of the production team to bring designs to fruition. Assist in the production process, including composite fabrication, assembly, and systems installation.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:
▪ Learn the basics of composite construction to assist with the design of components and tooling
▪ Navigate, manipulate, or create 3D models and the associated drawings
▪ Prepare models for 3D printing
▪ Communicate with and support production departments design needs based on the overall production schedule
▪ Work directly with all individuals in the Design and Engineering Department as well as all other departments to support efficient production
▪ Review specifications of equipment and designs to aid with regulatory compliance and safety considerations
▪ Assist with layup and infusion of composite components
▪ Assist with electrical installation
▪ Assist with systems installation
▪ Assist with assembly of composite components
▪ Assist with logistic tasks related to production
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
▪ Familiarity with boat systems, naval architecture, and automation
▪ Experience with 3D modeling, engineering drawing standards, and Microsoft Office ▪ 2 years enrollment in undergraduate engineering degree program
