John Williams Boat Company

John Williams Boat Company, of Mount Desert is looking for an individual to join our
general yard labor team. Some of this position’s duties include:
hauling/moving/launching boats, unstepping/stepping masts, pressure washing boats,
boat handling, bottom painting of boats, boat cleaning, and yard maintenance.
Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs. and have a strong work ethic.
Position is full time, year round from 7 am – 3:30 pm Monday – Friday.
Compensation: Competitive pay. Benefits include paid time off, paid holidays, 401k with

Marine Rigging Technician

John Williams Boat Company of Mount Desert, Maine is looking for a Marine Rigging
Technician. Some of this position’s duties include commissioning and
decommissioning masts and sails for service and storage. Assess, repair, replace, and
maintain spars, rigging, and deck hardware. Boat handling experience and basic DC
electrical knowledge preferred but not required. Applicant must be a self motivated
team player, able to lift 50 lbs. and have a strong work ethic.

Position is full time, year round from 7am – 3:30pm, Monday – Friday. We offer

Yamaha Outboard Technician

Jeff’s Marine, Inc. – Full-Time – 40 Hours/Week – Designated Weekends for Summer Season & Boat Shows

Reports to the Service Manager & General Manager

Overview

Jeff’s Marine’s Yamaha Outboard Technicians are a vital part of the crew. They perform many of the services provided by the boatyard, with engine service being one of their primary activities. They assist in a wide variety of tasks, from outfitting new boats with engines to diagnostic testing of customer’s engines. The technicians work with the entire Jeff’s Marine crew to complete projects of all sizes and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities & Duties

Duties include: routine service & maintenance of Yamaha engines; diagnostics & repair Yamaha engines; installation & rigging of engines; installation of electronics, including radars, depth finders, and chart plotters; spring commissioning of boats and outboards; winterization of boats and outboards; maintenance of safe work space & equipment; and ordering of parts.

Parts Assistant

Jeff’s Marine, Inc. – Part-Time Seasonal – 30+ Hours/Week – Designated Weekends for Summer Season & Boat Shows

Reports to the General Manager

Overview

The parts department is a key component of Jeff’s Marine. They assist customers with finding the correct parts for their projects. They assist in ordering parts for mechanics, individual customers, and other boatyards, and maintaining appropriate inventory levels.

Responsibilities & Duties

Duties include: ordering parts; checking in & receiving parts as they arrive; looking up parts for customers; keeping the parts room organized; answering phone calls & taking messages when appropriate; and other tasks as assigned.

Boat Detailer

Jeff’s Marine, Inc. – Part-Time Seasonal – Variable Hours/Week – Designated Weekends for Summer Season

Reports to the Service Manager & General Manager

Overview

Boat detailers are an essential component of Jeff’s Marine’s spring commissioning season. They assist in getting boats ready to be delivered. They specifically have an eye for detail and work well independently. They assist the yard crew in completing tasks to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities & Duties

Duties include: boat detailing & cleaning; buffing & waxing boats; organization of cleaning supply room; maintenance of yard, garage bays, storage buildings and equipment; and other tasks as assigned.
