Do you have the touch and are looking for responsibility and an opportunity to show off your talent in operating equipment?  Do you want to work for a company that continually invests in its people, facilities, and equipment? Safe Harbors Marinas has two waterfront facilities in Kittery and Eliot, Maine that service, repair and store power and sailing vessels ranging from 18′ to +50′. We are looking for an experienced equipment operator to join our team. The Equipment Operator is responsible for moving, hauling and launching all vessels on location. The successful candidate would be offered the opportunity to acquire additional skill sets within the boatyard and marina operations. Ability to operate power and sail vessels is preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate heavy equipment including but not limited to:  forklifts, travelifts, and hydraulic trailers
  • Be able to operate machinery efficiently, effectively and demonstrate safe handling of vessels
  • Inspect, maintain and repair equipment to ensure operational
  • Perform related tasks such as pressure washing, bottom painting, block and stand vessels, and general facilities maintenance, as needed

Maine Yacht Center – Full service boatyard and marina catering to 30′-80′ recreational vessels in Portland, ME is expanding and currently seeking full time year round tradesmen:

A strong high quality work ethic, and a positive attitude are an important attribute to each member of our team. Qualified candidates will bring working knowledge and experience on both power and sailing vessels up to 80′. Industry and ABYC certifications are desired but will consider training candidates with the right skills and aptitude. Royal River Boat Repair in Yarmouth, ME is seeking a full time seasonal yard laborer. Responsibilities include but not limited to: sanding and bottom painting of boats-waxing-detailing-boat cleaning-grounds maintenance-shrink wrap moving/launching boats and mast stepping. 

Applicant must be able to lift 50 lbs have a strong work ethic-ability to follow directions and have a valid driver’s license. This would be an ideal position for a high school student looking for summer work. 

This position could become a full time year round position for the right person with excellent benefits after a 60 day probation period has been completed.
