Yard Technician: Full Time, Year-Round
Job Description: Machine operator – straddle lift, boat transporter, articulated loader, crane, and plow truck. Haul and launch vessels. Transport vessels to and from dry storage. Step and un-step masts. Operate powered vessels to tow boats to and from docks and moorings. Undertake basic machine and equipment maintenance and repair. Assist with general property maintenance to include carpentry, painting, landscaping, snow removal, etc.
Qualifications: Clean driving record and valid driver’s license required. Prior related boat yard experience essential. Machine operator certifications preferred. Applicant must be a team player and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced, changing work environment. Job Description: Vessel commissioning to include shrink wrap removal and disposal, bottom sanding and scraping, application of anti-fouling paint systems, topsides polishing and waxing, general boat cleaning and detailing, etc. Assist yard crew with maintaining the property and in moving, launching, and hauling boats. Job Description: Assess, repair, replace, install, and maintain spars, rigging hardware, standing rigging, running rigging, lifelines, deck hardware, and furling systems. De-rig and un-step masts for servicing and storage. Step, tune, and rig masts for cruising or racing applications. Bend and un-bend sails. Perform basic DC electrical trouble-shooting and repairs. Interact directly with customers. Utilize other marine related skills to assist other departments outside of peak rigging times.
